The holiday season is upon us, and here at 1643 Josephine, we’re excited to kick it off with something truly special. This year, we’re joining Morguard’s North Pole Express, a four-week donation drive with a heartfelt mission. It’s our way of coming together to spread joy and bring smiles to foster children across the country through Comfort Cases, a nonprofit dedicated to helping kids feel seen, loved, and valued.
What Is the North Pole Express? 🎅
Imagine a sleigh overflowing with gifts—not just toys, but essentials and special touches to brighten a child’s day. The North Pole Express is a nationwide drive where Morguard communities, including ours here at 1643 Josephine, collect donations to support children in foster care. For the next four weeks, our lobby will transform into a festive drop-off point for your generous contributions.
Who Are We Supporting? 💙
This year, we’re partnering with Comfort Cases, an incredible organization that provides foster children with backpacks filled with essentials like books, cozy pajamas, hygiene products, and other comforting items. Many children enter foster care with their belongings in trash bags, so these comfort cases offer them dignity and hope, showing them that they are truly valued.
How Can You Make a Difference? 🎁
We’d love for you to join us in making this holiday season extra special! From now through December 13th, simply drop off any of the following items in our collection box located in the lobby:
- New pajamas (all sizes welcome)
- Diaper wipes (packs of 10-48)
- Children’s board books (to spark a love of reading)
- Small blankets & stuffed animals (perfect for a cozy hug)
- Baby washcloths (to help keep little ones clean)
Whether you donate a single item or a whole bag, every bit helps to make a child’s holiday brighter. Just remember: all donations must be new and unused, we can also not accept any religious, or holiday themed items.
